STIM STUDIO OVERVIEW

Stim is a company specialized in the production and creation of animation and visual effects for feature films, series, and commercials.
Based in France, Belgium, and very soon in Spain (Canary Islands), the studio was founded in 2019 by Félix, Jordan, and Benoit, all three having international experience in high-end VFX and animation companies.
Initially specializing in character work, the studio rapidly evolved to handle complete projects, from pre-production to final delivery.
Today, Stim Studio has 70 employees, with a projected growth to 200 through future recruitment driven by our upcoming projects. We have built our reputation working with hundreds of clients worldwide, delivering prestigious projects such as The Amazing Maurice, Garfield, Tom and Jerry's, and the short film A Mouse Called Julian. We are currently working on, among other projects, the feature film La Fille dans les Nuages (releasing in theaters on July 22, 2026) and the preschool TV series Karters.
Our technical infrastructure relies on a fleet of approximately 200 computers, primarily running Windows, with an active project for a progressive migration to Rocky Linux 9. It also includes around 40 servers, about 15 of which are physical servers. Virtualization is handled by VMware vSphere 7 and Proxmox VE 9.1, while storage for virtual environments and production files relies on TrueNAS SCALE arrays via a DFS Namespace (SMB) and NFS for Linux workstations and servers. Finally, the infrastructure integrates high-performance render servers dedicated to production needs and intensive rendering tasks, including an on-demand virtualized environment in the AWS cloud.

JOB CONTEXT

Reporting to the IT Manager and Executive Management, you will join a technical team currently composed of two people, centralized in our Lyon studio. You will also work in direct collaboration with the Pipeline development department to guarantee the performance, availability, and evolution of artistic production tools.

In a rapidly expanding multi-site environment, you will contribute to the maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of a robust infrastructure designed to meet the high standards of the industry, particularly those of the TPN (Trusted Partner Network) framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Systems Administration and Maintenance

  • Ensure the operational maintenance (MCO) of Windows and Linux servers as well as the VMware and Proxmox virtualization infrastructure.
  • Monitor the entire information system using Centreon and Grafana solutions.
  • Manage storage environments (TrueNAS) and critical infrastructure services.
  • Participate in the deployment, configuration, and operational maintenance of the workstation fleet, including the installation of operating systems, industry-specific software, peripherals, and integration into the corporate domain.
  • Monitor hardware and software inventory, license management, equipment renewal, as well as coordinate hardware maintenance interventions.
  • Contribute to the industrialization of workstation and server deployments: system images, installation scripts, configuration automation, update management, and environment standardization.
  • Administer and supervise the Veeam B&R 13 backup solution, regularly test restoration procedures, and participate in improving the disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Administer the Google Workspace suite: management of user accounts, groups, access rights, mailboxes, shared spaces, security rules, authentication policies, as well as supporting users in their use of collaborative services.

2. Network and Security Management

  • Administer network equipment (FortiGate firewalls, HPE/FiberStore switches, Cisco/Aruba Wi-Fi access points) and optimize inter-site flows (IPsec tunnels, FortiVPN).
  • Implement and harden security policies: MFA management, GPO/Ansible, network segmentation (VLAN), and TPN compliance.
  • Participate in the operation and evolution of the multi-site infrastructure, including network interconnections, remote access, centralized monitoring, and the alignment of technical standards across studios.
  • Manage access rights to production data, project areas, internal tools, and the security policies defined by the studio.

3. Support and Collaboration

  • Provide technical support for our employees using the GLPI ticketing tool.
  • Ensure technical support and integration for software used in production, notably 2D/3D creation tools, rendering, and production management tools.
  • Work in close collaboration with the "Pipeline" department to host and secure internally developed software tools.
  • Write and update technical documentation and user procedures (internal Wiki).

REQUIRED PROFILE

You have 2 to 5 years of experience in system and network administration, ideally in an animation, VFX, or video game studio, with a Bachelor's to Master's degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in Computer Science.

You are comfortable with Windows Server and Linux environments, virtualization, storage, enterprise networks, and monitoring tools.

You have a solid understanding of availability, security, backup, and user support challenges.

Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, NPS, VMware vSphere, Proxmox, TrueNAS, FortiGate, Centreon, Grafana, Docker, Nginx, or equivalent solutions is highly appreciated.

Scripting and automation skills are a definite plus, notably in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, to contribute to the industrialization of deployments, updates, maintenance tasks, and asset fleet management. Likewise, even a baseline knowledge of tools used in the animation, VFX, or audiovisual industries is a plus: 2D/3D software (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Adobe Suite, Arnold, Redshift, or equivalent tools), rendering (Deadline or equivalent tools), and production management (Kitsu).

Rigorous, autonomous, and organized, you possess a strong service-oriented mindset and can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are curious, proactive, and motivated by a creative, demanding, and rapidly evolving environment.
