Location: Montpellier, France (on-site position - presence mandatory, no full remote)

ABOUT THE JOB


As part of the Stim team, you will work in direct collaboration with the artistic and technical teams, under the supervision of the Director.

Please note: This position is based in Montpellier. On-site presence is mandatory. We are looking for someone who can work directly within our team in Montpellier. Therefore, this position is not open to full remote work.

For the production of an animated series, you will be responsible for storyboarding various sequences, translating script and directorial intent into clear, dynamic, and cinematic staging.
You will focus on the quality of shot breakdowns, composition, character acting, continuity, pacing, and visual storytelling, all while adhering to the artistic direction, established series style, and production constraints. An expected production quota of approximately 2 minutes of finalized storyboard per week is required.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

 

  • Proven experience as a Storyboard Artist (Mid to Senior level) on professional productions.
  • Excellent mastery of visual storytelling and cinematic language.
  • Strong skills in drawing, posing, acting, and character expression.
  • Great command of composition, framing, perspective, and camera movements.
  • Ability to translate a script and director's vision into a clear, effective visual breakdown.
  • Solid understanding of rhythm, continuity, and overall sequence readability.
  • Ability to propose creative staging solutions while respecting directorial intent and series identity.
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and organized workflow, with the capacity to meet the expected production quota (~2 min/week).
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to constructively integrate feedback from the Director and artistic teams.
  • Mandatory availability to work on-site in Montpellier.
  • Fluency in English or French.

 

NICE TO HAVE

 

  • Proficiency in Storyboard Pro, TVPaint, and/or Photoshop.
  • Significant experience on one or more animated series or feature films.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, perspective, and volume.
  • Strong affinity for character acting, comedy, and narrative pacing.
  • Experience handling complex sequences, action scenes, or multi-character shots.
  • Ability to work from 3D references, layouts, or existing set environments.
  • In-depth understanding of the animation production pipeline and strong communication skills.
