ABOUT THE JOB


Join the Stim team as a Body Rigging Artist on our series, Ghost Force. Working in direct collaboration with technical teams, modeling supervisors, and animators, you will be responsible for creating body rigs and deformation setups for characters, creatures, and props.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Collaborate with the Modeling Department to ensure character and prop topology is optimized for body rigging, skinning, and performance requirements.
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced body rigs (FK/IK systems, weight painting, deformers, volume preservation) for characters, creatures, and props.
  • Work closely with Animators to prototype, test, and refine body control setups that cater to a wide range of acting and technical needs.
  • Provide technical support for body rigs throughout the animation pipeline and assist in troubleshooting deformation or setup issues as they arise.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and maintain clear setup guides (wiki, template notes) to support the workflow.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

 

  • Excellent understanding of human and animal anatomy, body mechanics, volume preservation, dynamics, and character motion.
  • Strong mastery of Maya rigging toolsets, skinning techniques, and deformers.
  • Solid proficiency in Python scripting to interact with modular rigging pipelines, tools, and processes.
  • Strong analytical and artistic skills, creativity, and technical visual problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to write technical documentation and present your work clearly (wiki, screen caps, etc.).
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Fluent in English.

 

NICE TO HAVE

 

  • Experience with fully scripted and custom modular rigging frameworks.
  • Competencies in designing and troubleshooting complex rigging tools and workflows.
  • Proficient in French.
